REWEAVING

Of course, accidents do happen!

When a burn, tear or snag damages a precious garment, contact Arrow for REPAIR AND REWEAVING service.

There are three types of reweaving:

French Invisible Method

This type of reweaving is done on very small holes, up to about the size of a dime. It is a meticulous process in which threads are taken from an inside seam of the garment and actually hand woven in and out of all other threads in order to close the hole and make it invisible. It is time-consuming process and is thus the most expensive method.

Inweave

This is the most common reweaving process. A piece of fabric from a hidden area of the garment is placed over the hole and interwoven into the edges of the hole. It also, is a difficult process and must be matched exactly with the pattern of the garment. An inweave on a solid color material may show a discernible square outline.

Reknitting

This type of weave can be done on knitted fabrics only, such as sweaters, double knits or wool knits. Visibility depends on the type and color of the knit and the size of the damage.

How long does it take?
Allow 2-3 weeks from the date of shipping.

How much does it cost?
Because it is a meticulous hand-done technique, reweaving is not inexpensive. It is a good alternative, however, to discarding a favorite suit or sweater in the event of damage. Before we begin any work you will receive estimate for your approval after we receive your garment.

Is the job GUARANTEED?
ARROW REWEAVING IS GUARANTEED FOR THE LIFE OF THE GARMENT! WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE WEAVE WILL BE COMPLETELY INVISIBLE.

Is damage caused by insects repairable?
Yes, but we recommend cleaning the garment first. the extent of damage caused by moths, crickets and other insects is not always apparent until after cleaning.

If I have several holes to be repaired, how can I let you know?
You are responsible to mark the areas to be re-woven and we strongly suggest that you examine the garment with light, such as a lamp, behind the fabric in order to see the holes. You can use straight pins, safety pins or tailor's chalk to indicate the work area. Your note to us should indicate the number and locations of areas you wish to be repaired.
