If you are a "pickup and delivery" customer, you may have never visited our attractive counter facility at our main plant on the corner of 39th and Troost in midtown Kansas City. Many Arrow customers choose to bring in their garments rather than having them pickup up. Reasons given are: they enjoy the especially helpful and professional personnel in our counter customer service department. Others say that they just like getting out of the house.

Arrow Fabricare has again jumped in to help out for the 3rd year on the 7th annual Coats for Kids Campaign - November 9th to December 11th. Arrow is working in cooperation with KMBZ Radio, The Sertoma Club, Pride Cleaners and Gail's Harley-Davidson to collect usable coats and winter jackets - and cash.

“There's always a need,” says Neil Larrimore, KMBZ program director, “but this year the tough economy has put a huge crimp in lower-income budgets. When we can offer clean coats and jackets for school-age young people before the blustery onset of winter, it's a feat of heart.” Last year, more than 11,000 coats and jackets were collected, cleaned by Arrow and Pride, and distributed by volunteers from Sertoma and the U.S. Army to the Kansas City, Kansas, Kansas City, Missouri, Hickman Mills and the Independence school districts.

Again this year, Arrow will have a large coat collection box in the lobby at 39th and Troost. Arrow's residential route customers are asked to separate, and clearly mark the bag with their donated coats. The Arrow route representative will gather the donated coats along with the customer's regular order. Check your closet for outgrown and unused coats! All sizes are needed. You've no doubt heard of 3G and 4G telecommunication networks as the latest thing. Well the equipment shown in the photographs above and below is 5G in the dry cleaning business. Arrow recently installed this new machine, manufactured in Italy, in order to provide our customers with the very best in dry clean processing and service.

This behemoth (shown above from the reverse side) brings a new level of efficiency and speed that improves our service and improves our dry cleaning quality in difficult-to-clean garments. This is our ongoing goal....providing Arrow's customers with the best!

An interesting sidelight to this Arrow expansion story is a current study by The American Dry Cleaner Magazine, an influential publication in the industry that says that 45.7% of drycleaners responding to a survey say they plan to build or renovate a plant or store in the next year — and many will spend substantial amounts of money to do so. This is an amazing statistic when one considers that many dry cleaners are having a rough year (not Arrow...thankfully), some with substantial decreases in their revenue. We belong to a resilient community of business people and Arrow is proud to be a national leader.

Q. What do I do about mold and mildew on my leather jacket?

A. Arrow has very effective methods for complete mold and mildew removal for leather garments depending on the type of leather, and the finish, i.e. grain, suede, full aniline, cow, pig, lamb, etc. It sounds as though, your garment has been in a warm moist area, that has promoted the mold growth. Proper storage after cleaning would be a cool, dry, dark place, hung in a breathable bag. We recommend that you take advantage of our free in-bound shipping so we can look at it and give you an estimate for bringing your precious garment back to health. Q. I sent my varsity jacket to a local dry cleaner and it came back noticeably shrunk. Is there anything that you can do?

A. We clean hundreds of varsity jackets every year, and don’t have any trouble at all with shrinkage. If you would like to send us one of your jackets, we would be happy to re-stretch, and block the body for you to the proper size. Please check our webpages.

Friday morning, November 20th, the bright red remote broadcasting van showed up on Arrow's doorstep. A large contingent of KMBZ personnel were on hand to assist Arrow customer's who arrived to donate coats for indigent Kansas City schoolchildren. Last year over 11,000 coats were cleaned and distributed by Arrow and others.
